Updates

As of Tuesday, March 23, 2021, when I log into MyTrueAncestry, the "Results" page is the first page MyTrueAncestry loads.

A link to the "Haplogroup Analytics," with a picture of a crown and a blue shield to the right of it, is the fourth link down. Included in that section are my "Y-" and "mtDNA Distribution." Both of these buttons are labeled with crown icons, which indicate that clicking on them leads to lists of royal remains whose DNA matches mine.

As I mentioned in my previous post, selecting either of these tabs loads a circle chart divided into sections of various sizes and colors. Mousing over a section of the circle chart causes a window to pop up, presumably indicating what portion of my paternal or maternal DNA is matched to the ancient remains that MyTrueAncestry has allegedly compared it with. It also causes a list to appear, of remains with matching DNA. This list is updated approximately every week, as the data from more sets of ancient, human remains is added to their database, and this causes changes in the percentages associated with the haplogroups that MyTrueAncestry associates with my DNA. I've seen my paternal haplogroup with the highest percentage, R1b, fluctuate between 74% and 75.7%. I've seen my maternal Haplogroup N percentage drop from about 15% to less than 2%!

NOTE:  I've discovered that I need to be careful when scrolling through the lists of remains associated with my haplogroups, because, if I mouse over another section of the circle chart, a different list appears, associated with the section representing a haplogroup other than the one I intended to select. To facilitate selecting a certain section and the corresponding list of ancient, human remains, I can click on the names of the haplogroups in the legend to the right of the circle charts, to toggle them on or off. If I toggle them all off, the chart disappears. If I only leave one toggled on, the entire circle becomes the corresponding color, making it easier to select it without selecting any other section.

As of Monday, March 22, 2021, MyTrueAncestry has indicated that my DNA matches that of the Irish king, Diarmait Mac Murchada, King of Leinster (see above). WikiTree's Connection Finder AND WikiTree+ indicate that I am a direct descendant of this Irish king!

As of Sunday, March 14, 2021, MyTrueAncestry has posted haplogroup relationships, in their Haplogroup Analytics section, for forty Scottish Clans. Coats-of-Arms representing these clans appear among coats-of-arms representing sets of royal personages. 74.7% of my "Y-DNA Distribution" is R1b. Because I have upgraded my membership to Olympus (Level 6 of 7), MyTrueAncestry creates a list of approximately five dozen sets of ancient remains with DNA that is, allegedly, part of this haplogroup. These are among the one hundred fifty sets of remains with DNA that matches mine, which they let me see, based on my membership level. If I were to upgrade to Odyssey (Level 7), they would show me one hundred more matches, for a total of two hundred fifty, and they might show me more royal or clan matches to my DNA.

Approximately fifty of my R1b matches are allegedly matches to royal personages and/or Scottish clans represented by coats-of-arms below or beside the names of the sets of ancient, human remains. Approximately two dozen sets of ancient, human remains are matched to two sets of royalty:  British and Scottish. Others are matched to other sets of royalty, including:  Belgian, Bulgarian, English, Portuguese, Scottish, and Welsh.

My other Y-DNA haplogroup matches to royal personages are I1, J, and G2, as mentioned above.

My mTDNA also has matches belonging to haplogroups associated with royal personages, as listed above.

MyTrueAncestry has also matched my Y-DNA with several Scottish clans, including Armstrong, Boyle, Bruce, Buchanan, Cameron, Cathcart, Donnachaidh, Erskine, Gordon, Grant, Home, Lyon, MacDonald, MacDougall, MacGregor, Murray, Stirling, and Sutherland.

As of Sunday, March 14, 2021, MyTrueAncestry has yet to indicate a match between my mitochondrial DNA and any Scottish Clan - only sets of royal and/or famous personages, including Austrian Royalty, Belgian Royalty, Bohemian Royalty, Danish Royalty, English Royalty, French Royalty, Greek Royalty, the Holy Roman Empire, Italian Royalty, Luxembourg Royalty, Napoleon I and II, Polish Royalty, Portuguese Royalty, Prussian Royalty, Romanian Royalty, the Romanovs, Russian Royalty, Sardinian Royalty, Saxon Royalty, Spanish Royalty, Swedish Royalty, and Tuscan Royalty.
